Why She's Here

I never wanted her in my home. I never thought I'd see her again. It had been years since I had last seen her and when I last saw her I thought it was good. She was with Fox and I thought they were going to get married. It proved a very different story when she found me. I would still like to know how she found me but really I could have cared much less than she assumed I did. I answered my door and there she was wearing her preistess outfit and looking worse for wear. I looked over her shoulder for Fox, Falco, Wolf, or even Panther. No one. I beckoned her inside. What would the neighbors think of my having a half naked woman at my door.

I should think they would believe I had called for a call girl or a prostitute. I did not need this. Not now. My girlfriend had just broken up with me 4 months prior and now I had this woman I barely knew sitting on my couch. I stared at her waiting for her to say something. I had only attained the rank of ensign on the Great Fox when they had brought her on board.

I believe I should reword that phrase. I was an ensign trained at the Cornarian Academy, and she was an untrained civilian who had cried in to the microphone so long that frog Slippy had brought her aboard. She was subsequently given my job and I was shipped off to another ship. Years on the force I had been given my own ship only after gaining enough fame and money had I decided to settle down on a distant planet. I thought I had found my perfect mate. Unfortunate enough for me my perfect girl also found the perfect guy and how perfectly they fit in to each others lives . . . . In my bed. I caught them and threw them out. I guess I broke it off with her come to think of it.

Now I had Krystal I believe her name was. A little cliche a fox named Krystal getting trapped in a crystal. I guess I would try to hide my name as well if something that stupid had happened to me. I digress however.

My name is Lucius MoonTear. Which is better than my mother's maiden name which is RashEnd. Even though my father walked out on my mother and the litter of seven from which I was spawned. I still bore his name and from all I have been told . . . . His likeness as well.

"I didn't know where else to go!" Krystal cried from the couch. She had knelt down on her knees and was now crying in to my expensive seat cushions.
"How did you find me?" I asked as I jumped up on the counter and sat as far away from her as I could. Since she stole my job I harbored a hate for this blue vixen.
"I found your name and address in the computer of my ship. I remembered that you knew Fox. Have you," Krystal began sobbing.
"I haven't seen the captain in about 7 years." I cut her off. "Now if that is all you have to ask. I will bid you good night and goodbye."
"I!" She began sobbing uncontrollably. "I don't have anywhere to go!"
"Well, you can't stay here!" I argued with her.
"Please! Don't throw me out. You don't know what I have been through." She cried out. "I'll do anything! ANYTHING! I'll suck your. . . ."
"KRYSTAL!" I shouted at her which caused more weeping.
"You don't understand. I escaped. The people on this planet. They have been making copies of me." She pleaded.
"Copies?" I quirked an eyebrow. "Dopplegangers?"
"Yes! Copies of me. They kept me locked in a crystal. . . . " She said as I snorted loudly trying to contain a laugh. "It made copies of me, and I felt, and seen everything they did to them. Horrible things. Sexual things. All of the perversions. They put things everywhere. They dyed my fur and made me touch the other among other things."
"Disgusting," I growled.
"If you throw me out. One of the perverts will get me. They will. Please Lucius. Let me stay."

Sighing heavily I hopped down off of the counter.
"Fine. You can stay. But there are some rules. FIRSTLY! You have to put on some clothes. I have nice neighbors who I do not want seeing you dressed like some type of harlot!" I growled and could not believe I was letting her stay.
"Yes. Yes. I will." She agreed wiping her tears on her arm. I tossed her a box of tissue, and she wiped her face and nose.
"Secondly you will sleep on the fold out bed. You are not to enter my room for any reason. You can use every room in the house but my room is off limits to you and any friends you may meet or invite to the house." I growled to myself. "I have some clothes that my ex-girlfriend left that should fit you. I will bring them out along with some blankets. You may use the hall closet for your items, and you will do your own laundry. I will NOT be catering to you."
"Yes, Lucius. Thank you." She said as I handed her some blankets as I folded out the couch.
"And lastly. . . . I will try to get in touch with the captain or someone as soon as possible to take you home." Krystal jumped up and hugged me around the neck as I stood up. She tried to kiss me but I pushed her off. "And you will never try that again. I do not love you and I never will but putting a woman even one like you out on the street would be unthinkable. I can't send you back to being a slave to perverts. Once you are home again I will work on removing all of the copies."

Krystal nodded as she sat on the edge of the couch bed and pulled the blanket around her.
"Thank you, Lucius." She whispered. "Goodnight."
"Go to bed," I said as I closed the french doors to my room.

I had to be firm with her. I could not allow her to get to me. From the way the captain acted when she was around he was more infected by her than in love with her. I had to cut this infection off of my planet and out of everyone who had come in contact with her. If she was telling the truth there were many more of her. I had no idea how I was going to get rid of them all. This infection may have become more than I could handle alone.

I fell back on my bed and fell asleep in my clothes. I was going to feel disgusting when I woke up but at the moment I did not care.
